Igniting Collaboration: A Recap of CTE's 2023 Annual Meeting

November 15, 2023

On November 6th and 7th, the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) hosted our Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. This event welcomed CTE's Members, Board of Directors, Policy Board, and Staff, fostering strategic networking and offering exclusive insights into CTE's current initiatives and future direction.

Day One: Forging Advocacy Collaboration in 2024

We kicked off the two-day event with a Policy Strategy Session and Dinner exclusive to Leadership Circle Members, setting the stage for an upcoming year of robust advocacy collaboration. Conversations centered around CTE's 2024 Advocacy Agenda, with breakout groups exploring opportunities for partnership and collaboration. Notably, Congressman Peter DeFazio, former Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the newest addition to CTE's Policy Board, contributed and helped guide strategic discussions.

Day Two: Comprehensive Insights and Collaborative Visioning

Day two brought together CTE's Leadership Circle and General Members, Board of Directors, Policy Board, and dedicated staff for a full-day meeting to hear updates on CTE's State of the Organization, Strategic Business Development, Engineering and Technical Services, as well as pivotal projects. A thorough review of CTE's project portfolio, staffing, organizational structure, and membership spotlighted the organization's dynamic growth and diversity. The meeting concluded with small working groups engaging in a collaborative visioning session. Creating a hypothetical project, Members showcased their industry-leading solutions and explored opportunities for partnership.

The day wrapped up with a dinner at Torched Hop, providing Members with an opportunity to build on connections made throughout the day while enjoying dinner and sampling Atlanta's famous locally brewed beer.

CTE and our Members are eager to carry the momentum from the Annual Meeting into 2024 and beyond. Opportunities for interaction with Members inspire CTE's talented staff to continue advancing communities and operators toward a fully zero-emission transportation future.
