Climate Transportation Leadership Roundtable

Launch Alaska partnered with CTE to host the 2022 Climate Transportation Leadership Roundtable on September 26th in Anchorage, Alaska. The event convened fleet owners, government agencies, utilities, climate tech companies, and academics for a conversation focused on innovations in zero-emission ground transportation featuring medium and heavy-duty delivery and freight vehicles. The Climate Transportation Leadership Roundtable participants connected with transportation industry leaders to learn about cutting-edge transportation technologies, corporate sustainability initiatives, and innovations to drive the future of ground transportation in Alaska and beyond.

Speakers included representatives from: Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Alaska Trucking Association, UPS, TTSI, GlovisUSA, NGVAmerica, Alaska CNG, and Norgasco. Panelists discussed their successes, failures, and ideas for the future progress of the zero-emission technology industry around the country. The event was an exciting opportunity to bring key stakeholders in the energy and transportation community together to advance Alaska's progress toward a zero-emission future.

Steve Clermont, CTE Director of Planning and Deployment, presented to the stakeholders and attendees on the technology and market trends for light- to heavy-duty battery-electric vehicles. In response to being asked why zero emissions", Mr. Clermont responded, "It's critical to the health of our communities.

"Following the Climate Transportation Leadership Roundtable, Launch Alaska hosted their annual TrAKtion event. TrAKtion highlights the projects and partnerships accelerating the clean energy economy in Alaska and also kicks off the 2022 Tech Deployment Track, an eight-month accelerator program that pairs climate tech startups with Alaskan partners and customers to develop opportunities for deployment in the state. CTE is excited for the future innovations this program will bring to the clean energy industry.
