UPS Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Delivery Van Demonstration

UPS Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Delivery Van Demonstration

The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) and UPS have joined to develop a zero emission fuel cell hybrid electric delivery van as part of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) investment to commercialize cost effective hydrogen technologies. ┬áIn partnership with Hydrogenics USA, University of Texas Center for Electromechanics (CEM), Unique Electric Solutions (USL), Valence Technology, and UPS, the project team will retrofit 17 delivery vans with fuel cell hybrid power trains and test these vehicles at distribution facilities across California.

This project is also supported through grants from California Energy Commission (CEC) and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
