Delaware Transit Electric Bus Program

Delaware Transit Electric Bus Program

CTE, in partnership with Delaware Transit Corporation (DART), has partnered over the years to deploy a number of electric buses. The project descriptions are as follows:

CTE and DART will deploy six 35′ Proterra Catalyst buses with on-route and depot charging. The buses will serve the Dover state capitol area. The deployment of the battery electric buses will greatly reduce emissions and help to improve air quality in the state’s capital. DART will also increase service to otherwise underserved areas.

CTE and DART will deploy 10 Proterra 35′ Catalyst E2 Battery Electric Buses. Eight of the buses will be serving Wilmington, and two will be serving Sussex County, Delaware. Deploying these buses will bring the transit agency closer to their completely electrifying their fleet.

All projects were made possible by the funding of the Low-No Grant program through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
