the Project
The Southern Fuel Cell Coalition (SFCC) is a nonprofit, member-based
consortium formed to supplement individual southern states’
initiatives to grow and develop hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.
The SFCC will focus on the broader picture of southern regional
resources and interstate collaborative opportunities to develop,
demonstrate, and commercialize
these technologies.
SFCC projects and activities will promote interstate
cooperation and regional job growth to meet the needs of a
market that is expected to grow to $7.3 billion within the
next 15 years.
GOALS of the SFCC:
- Identify federal, state, and local funding opportunities
for fuel cell research, development, and demonstration projects
originating in the south;
- Create collaborative project teams from within a network
of SFCC members in response to those funding opportunities;
- Develop niche market opportunities for viable fuel cell
applications in the advanced transportation technology industry;
and,
- Increase the political visibility, support, and
influence of southern fuel cell technology resources and
capabilities.
- Publish and disseminate project results to increase public
and media attention to SFCC members and their work.
