City of Gainesville Electric Bus Program

The Center for Transportation and the Environment is working with the City of Gainesville, Florida’s Regional Transit System (RTS) to deploy two GILLIG battery electric buses and two ChargePoint charging stations. The zero-emission buses are expected to enter service in 2020. Emissions reductions achieved through the project will help the City of Gainesville and the University of Florida reach their sustainability goals. The project was made possible by the funding of the Low-No Grant program through the¬†Federal Transit¬†Administration (FTA).
