Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Zero-Emission Bus Master Plan Project

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Zero-Emission Bus Master Plan Project
CTE is working with WSP and STV to create a Strategic Master Plan for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) transition to zero-emission buses (ZEBs).  The ZEB Master Plan will guide Metro’s transition from a 100% CNG bus operation to a 100% ZEB fleet by 2030.  The project team will provide phasing options to implement ZEBs on Metro’s entire system, including Local and Rapid bus routes.
CTE will provide Metro with decision making support by reviewing innovative technology and facilitating evaluation of current and future opportunities. CTE will convene industry vehicle, infrastructure, and utility experts in forums in order to examine and track vehicle technology & performance, energy production and pricing, and infrastructure needs and life-cycle analysis.  CTE will work as a liaison between Metro and local utility companies in order to develop partnerships for infrastructure standardization and negotiate “transit friendly” utility rate structures.  Lastly, CTE will use its in-house simulation expertise to validate the Team’s ZEB feasibility findings and provide Metro with confidence in the comprehensive list of ZEB phasing options.
