CTE to Provide Project Management Support for CARB-Funded Electric Top Loader

July 12, 2018

Atlanta, GA, July 2018:

The Center for Transportation  & the Environment (CTE) was selected by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for funding as part of their Low Carbon Transportation and Fuels Investments and Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). CTE will lead this Off-Road Advanced Technology Demonstration Project to develop and demonstrate a pre-commercial fuel cell electric top loader that will showcase the viability of zero-emission technologies for freight operations at ports. CTE is joined by NREL, Hyster-Yale, Nuvera, WAVE, Stratos Fuel, and Eagle Marine Services, to develop the top loader. The vehicle will include fuel cell range extension and wireless charging capabilities in a demonstration at the Port of Los Angeles. CTE is currently working on managing and deploying other zero-emission technologies in the medium- and heavy-duty transportation sector - such as Kenworth's zero-emission cargo fuel cell drayage truck and Goodwill's battery electric delivery van. CTE's proven project management methodology reduces risk during the commercialization process for cutting-edge clean vehicles.
